On behalf of Team New Nigeria, I wish to express profound appreciation to you and your team for graciously accepting to receive members of this honorable group in audience today against all odds and justifiable reasons for which a decline in our request will have been hinged on. It is therefore imperative for Team New Nigeria to acknowledge first your commitment to keeping Nigeria united and your sense of patriotism to our great nation.
Without taking more time Mr. President, I wish to formally present to you Team New Nigeria – a good governance and social development advocacy group formed by distinguished Nigerians who share a common aspiration with the founding fathers of our great nation along the lines of shared prosperity, national unity, patriotism and mutual respect.
Formed in 2020, Team New Nigeria was formed as a platform that seeks to promote a strong, united and prosperous Nigeria where citizens can live where they choose, maximize their growth potentials and contribute as distinct individuals to the task of nation building.
Presently, we are proud to notify you Sir that what started as a dream shared between casual friends and professional colleagues has manifested in the formation of a group that is now visibly present in all zones of Nigeria, 2/3 of Nigerian states and local government areas as well as diaspora branches.
Not only have we succeeded in building structures, we have equally succeeded in bringing together Nigerians who believe that the task of nation building should not be left alone to elected leaders but to citizens who profess faith and loyalty to their nation.
Mr. President Sir, Team New Nigeria believes that whereas Nigeria is presently not where it is designed to be, there have been series of gains which have all proven that in the midst of our challenges as a people, there is progress and there is light at the end of the tunnel.
We therefore congratulate you for your gains in infrastructure development and enhancement across Nigeria. We note that there is no single Nigerian state where at the moment; there isn’t at least one ongoing federal project. In states like Anambra, Rivers, Kaduna, Kano, Lagos, Enugu, Borno, Benue, Nasarawa, Cross River, Ogun and many more, there are as much as two ongoing simultaneously – with each running into billions of Naira.
We equally acknowledge your contributions to the advancement of agriculture and aviation as well as ongoing reforms in the oil sector that has made fuel scarcity an occurrence of the past.
We also note that under your stewardship, Nigeria; though being one of the most densely populated nations on earth, recorded one of the lowest incidences of COVID-19 related deaths – a feat which till date has left the world wondering how we actually survived.
It is against these backgrounds that it is my pleasure to announce that Team New Nigeria is a group that has emerged to also ensure that the leadership emergence process in Nigeria is deepened so the gains of today under your stewardship are not eroded by the failures of the next generation of leaders.
We are therefore putting you on notice that not only do we as Team New Nigeria believe in the unity of Nigeria as a major catalyst for progress, we are prepared to work for the unity and stability of our dear nation and it is because above everything else, we are patriots that are tested can be trusted to not deviate from our nationalistic disposition.
Mr. President Sir, Nigeria is a country we are determined to steer to greater heights.
We have therefore set for ourselves a national roadmap and schedule of activities that aim at mobilizing more Nigerians across the North, East, South and West for the sole purpose of setting new narratives for nation building.
The first amongst these activities is the national launch of our maiden publication entitled “words of our leaders” –a compendium of speeches, remarks, thoughts, ideologies, values and opinions of some of the finest and truest, statesmen, nationalists and leaders of thoughts of our dear nation. This publication is meant to close the knowledge gap amongst Nigerians and serve as a one stop information pool for readers from around the world about the concept of Nigeria in its most original form.
The ball is set to start rolling and as a group, we hereby appeal to you to be part of this national event not as a visitor but as our most distinguished guest of honor.
It is our belief that your acceptance to be physically present at the program will afford Nigerians and the global viewing audience a chance to see you profess your absolute faith in Nigeria once again.
Mr. President Sir, the Nigeria of tomorrow is certainly brighter in prospects than the Nigeria of now; the signs are blurry but the final outcome is clear. We are therefore pleased to share the same faith and belief in Nigeria as you do.
We thank you immensely for authorizing this strategic interactive session between Team New Nigeria and your team; personally led by your esteemed self.
